Flour & Fold was born from Ashley’s lifelong love of feeding people. What started as a Saturday booth at the Austin Farmers Market in 2018 grew into the neighborhood bakery that East Austin locals now line up for every morning.
Every loaf, croissant, and cake is made by hand—no shortcuts, no artificial preservatives. Ashley and her team arrive before sunrise to mix, fold, and proof each batch. The sourdough starter has been going since day one. The recipe for the morning bun is still a secret.

Meet Ashley
“I bake because I love feeding people. There’s something magical about watching someone’s face light up over a fresh croissant.”
Growing up, the kitchen was always the heart of Ashley’s home. Her grandmother’s handmade recipes, her mother’s weekend baking sessions—food was the language her family spoke most fluently.
After a decade in corporate life, she followed her real calling. In 2018, Ashley opened Flour & Fold in a 300-square-foot commercial kitchen off East 6th Street in Austin. What started as a Saturday spot at the Austin Farmers Market grew into something the neighborhood couldn’t imagine life without.
When she’s not in the kitchen before dawn, Ashley is home in Austin with her husband and two kids—who are her most enthusiastic (and honest) taste testers.

Yes! We offer select gluten-free and vegan items that rotate seasonally. Currently we have gluten-free brownies, vegan banana bread, and gluten-free almond cookies. Please note that all items are prepared in a shared kitchen, so we cannot guarantee a completely allergen-free environment.
For custom cakes, we recommend placing your order at least 2 weeks in advance. For wedding cakes or elaborate designs, please reach out at least 4-6 weeks ahead. We'll schedule a tasting consultation to make sure everything is exactly what you envision.
Currently, we offer in-store pickup only. You can place your order online and pick it up at your chosen time. We find this ensures the best quality and freshness of our products. For large or special orders (like wedding cakes), we can arrange delivery on a case-by-case basis — just reach out to discuss.
We're committed to quality. Our core ingredients include locally milled flour, European-style butter, free-range eggs, and seasonal fruits from nearby farms. We never use artificial preservatives, and our sourdough starter has been fed and maintained since the day we opened.
Absolutely! We love catering events, office meetings, and celebrations. For orders of 20+ items or custom platters, please contact us at least 1 week in advance. We offer pastry platters, bread baskets, and dessert tables. Use our contact form or call us to discuss your needs.
Yes! Gift cards are available in-store in any amount starting at $10. They make the perfect gift for bread lovers, new neighbors, or anyone who deserves a treat. We're working on making these available for online purchase soon.
Our Sourdough Boule is the undisputed champion — we bake over 200 every week and they always sell out by noon. Close behind are our Butter Croissants and the Cinnamon Morning Bun. If you're visiting for the first time, grab one of each!
